Holiday Hydroponics!

Ready to grow food year-round? Want to end weeding and grow plants faster? In this class, we’ll explore the fascinating world of soilless cultivation, where plants thrive in nutrient-rich water solutions. Learn about indoor passive hydroponics and decorate your own kratky jar with a fall or winter theme. Make a holiday gift for yourself or others! Class includes everything you need to get started growing an herb indoors, including the plant, nutrients, jar, and a sleeve you decorate! Students also receive an instructive handout with instructions for using your new passive hydroponic jar. Materials fee $15 + class fee $25 = $40 per student [NOTE: This class only covers passive hydroponic systems. It's shorter and less detailed than our Hydroponic Systems 1.0 and 2.0 classes, which cover active and passive hydroponics, lighting, nutrient blends, larger setups, etc. We'll offer these classes again in Spring 2025.] INSTRUCTOR: Lori Scoby started her indoor gardening journey in 2020 after buying a small tabletop hydroponic unit. She fell in love and now has food growing in half the rooms in her house, and yes, her husband does support her addiction, especially when he gets to eat the fruit of her labors. Lori and her husband have also converted much of their front yard in Worthington into a native plant habitat, with a focus on medicinal plants, and much of their backyard into outdoor food gardens.
